The lyrics for this song came to mind after hearing continuous bouts of nonsense on the news. “Honest Liar” is a song calling out the silver-serpent-tongued: the ones that falsify and injure with a deceptive smile, unable to call terrible things by their right name.
lyrics
Tell me something good
'cause something doesn't sit
The more that you make up
the less the pieces fit
Your story's cheap
you sweep them off the floor,
saying no returns, please,
when they don't work no more
Chorus:
yeah, aren't you bored?
yeah, aren't you tired?
I can't take it anymore,
hey, hey, hey,
you honest liar.
Such a bad taste
left in your mouth
Were those names bitter
when you spit them out?
Get out, fortune lady,
Get out, weatherman,
Get out, house of cards,
don't you understand?
Heard this on WNCW today and listened on repeat all day. Had to buy the vinyl and show my support. This is gonna be my summer 2020 album and I’m perfectly fine with that. Great work and look forward to the streams later this month. Find the podcast from Southern Songs & Stories about the band and album. mrsoulmarkj

Love these songs acoustically and have seen Los Dos Juans a few times live. I really appreciate the electric spin on this live set because it drowns out the screaming idiots who haven’t learned how to respect the artist singing or what concert etiquette is. Well done fellas! Yimmy Kil
